Catalina Island

Yesterday, Larry and I filmed a show over at Catalina Island. The ride over went well even though we took my little boat, the 24 foot Skeeter handled the channel well. We started out fishing at Arrow Point, but we had no current so we drove around to the back side of the island. West Cove held a lot of fish and we filmed most of the show in that one spot. The Calicos ate both live and dead baits. It was preety wide-open for about two hours. We ended the day on the front side of the island. I was tossing thin jerk baits and crankbaits. My largest fish of the day was taken this way. We left the island around 3 PM and it only took about one hour and twenty minutes to make it back to Long Beach.

This week I have two fishing trips. Wed. is a foundation kids trip and Friday we'll be filming aboard the Freelance out of Newport.

Have a great week, Dan

What brand of lure was the thin, rattle, yellow belly, square lipped you were using?
