Barracude are Biting!!!!

I just got off the phone with Greg Watson, skipper of the Sea Angler and told me that the local boats are getting a good number of barracuda today and that the fish are still biting!!!! He has a charter tomorrow and will be calling me with an update. Also boats are far south as San Diego are also reporting a good bit on the barries.

A few things to share with you

First off tonight I'm at the Sport Chalet store in Chino Hills for a free fishing seminar, seminar starts at 6PM. This Saturday May 12th we'll be hosting a free kids fishing event in SD at Chollas Park. These are always great events and it's always nice to meet you all. Then there is this.....

We are going to try something new for us. Some of you have been asking me to hold more family type events where people in your family who don't fish can still come out and hang out with me, so I'm going to give this a try. On Monday June 11th me and the guys at Turner's Outdoorsman will be going to watch the Dodgers play against the Angles and you're all invited to join us. The Fish Are Starting To Bite

Finally the fish are starting to bite. I've been checking a lot of the message boards and I'm finally seeing consent reports of fish eating baits, in San Diego and Ensenada the yellowtail are biting and few have even been landed in Long Beach area, private boaters have been getting halibut for a while now and I've seen good reports on sand bass along the breakwater and the local rock piles. I know it's not wide-open tuna action, but I'm hoping we see that in July, for now it's time to go fishing a try for a bass, halibut or a yellowtail and if you get really lucky you might even land a white sea bass.

I just wanted to thanks everyone who attended our fishing tackle swap meet over the weekend, we had over 25 vendors and lots of people showed up to buy fishing tackle, we even gave tours of your production offices for my TV program and showed off our "Tackle Box" filming set. Thank you all for making this a great event.

Fishing Tackle Swap Meet

Our youth foundation will be hosting a fishing tackle swap meet this Sunday in Cerritos. The address is 11138 Business Circle, Cerritos, CA 90703. It's free to attend, but it does cost $35.00 per space to sell. We also will be giving tours of our filming set where we film all of our "Tackle Box" segments. Lincoln Park Free Kids Event Report

We had around 250 kids for our free kids fishing event at Lincoln Park in ELA. The weather was perfect, maybe a little too warm for the trout, but many of the kids caught fish and for most of them it was their first fish ever. After the fishing was over all the kids got a free mael and we raflled off several nice prizes, including three bikes.
