I hate all this wind.

because of all the heavy wind hitting us right now, our fishing trip for tonight has been moved to May 28th. you can call Larry our charter master if you have any questions. Heavy winds just make it very tough to be out on the water, it hurts the fishing and can be very dangerous too. sometimes the winds are so strong that it makes what we can wind waves, the best thing to do in heavy wind is to stay off the water. I know the skipper did the right thing tonight, but I REALLY WANTED TO GO FISHING TOMORROW.

This week on the 28th I'll be doing a free fishing seminar at the Sport Chalet store in Oxnard. It'll start at 7 PM. I'll be talking about inshore fishing. Sport Chalet will have a raffle with lots of free prizes after my seminar. They are also offering everyone that attends nice discounts on fishing tackle that night. I hope to see alot of you there.

Ranger 85 Fishing Trip Is This Week

We'll be fishing the Channel Islands for white sea bass, halibut, calico bass and there is always great rock fishing there too. Thanks to everyone who came to our fundraiser last night. Also special thanks to both Shawn Morgan and Brian from the American Angler for the great seminars they both gave. Thanks to everyone we were able to raise money to take kids fishing.

Yellowtai!

Several sport boats have reported seeing large schools of yellow over at San Clemente Is. The word I got was that the boats saw large schools of fish but each time they pulled up on them, the fish they would just drop down deep and they never got a shot at them. I think as soon as we get a few good days of weather in a row you're going to see them start to bite. The weather for the rest of this week looks like its going to improve and I wouldn't be surprised if I hear the yellows bite this Friday or Saturday. Our next trip is April 23rd aboard the Electra hopefully we'll be pulling on yellow on that trip too.
